League of Iowa Human & Civil Rights Agencies, Inc.

 The League of Human & Civil Rights Agencies is a statewide organization of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission (ICRC), the Iowa Department of Human Rights and all the local civil and human rights commissions in the State of Iowa. The League receives assistance from the Iowa Human & Civil Rights VISTA Project. Partnership with the League of Human & Civil Rights Agencies and ICRC links you with:
  • Best practices on how local communities and the state work to end discrimination and how communities are embracing the value and importance of diversity
  • Strong alliances with other commissions, commissioners and stakeholder groups committed to championing and educating communities about civil rights and diversity
  • Information regarding what happening in the civil and human rights arenas and how to raise the profile of civil rights in Iowa
  • Training on commission roles and responsibilities, local commission operations, legislative issues, hate crime prevention, implementation of civil rights laws
  • Coordination on civil rights issues, priorities, legislation and funding
